The Counseling Center Is All About Helping Our Clients:

Recover from the wounds of childhood traumas, such as sexual abuse
Counseling Center therapists assist clients in gaining understanding of how childhood traumas impact their lives today. Therapists who work in SAFTIP (Sexual Abuse Family Treatment and Intervention) are specially trained to help survivors and their families cope with these difficult issues.

• Improve their family life
The challenges of parenting and growing up can cause stress for a family and its individual members. The Parental Stress Program provides a variety of services designed to improve the lives of families, while Safe & Sound and Safe Exchange protect and support children whose parents are in conflict.

• Mediate visitation disagreements
With the help of a trained mediator, separated parents learn to communicate more effectively and develop a plan for more effective co-parenting. This service helps parents to learn the needs of their children and develop a cooperative parenting agreement that is in the best interest of their children.

• Increase self-confidence
Participation in individual or group therapy can increase the self-esteem of clients of any age. Self-understanding and acceptance can be the keys to a happier, more satisfying life. Counseling services offered at the Center include those for individuals, couples, families and groups (such as neighbors or co-workers).
