HOMEBUILDERS®
HOMEBUILDERS® is a therapeutic program that uses best practice strategies for families whose children are in imminent risk of placement or have children who cannot be reunified withouth intensive services. HOMEBUILDERS® is an evidence-based model that focuses on time-limited, intensive and home-based services designed to stabilize and strengthen families.
Intensive Reunification and Preservation
Intensive services are family-focused, child-centered, goal-oriented, and provide in-home skill-building and after-care linkage. Intensive services last 4-6 weeks for preservation cases. Reunification cases must have children returned within 30 days of referral and provide post-reunification stabilization.
All HOMEBUILDERS® cases include the following
- Face to face contact within 24 hours of acceptance of the referral
- Immediate response to crisis
- Safety Plan created during first visitation
- NCFAS, Initial Assessment, and Service Plan completed within 7 days
- Funding available for concrete services to each family
- Average face to face time with families is 15-20 hours per week
- Closure NCFAS and goal assessment at end of Intensive services
HOMEBUILDERS® Fidelity Measures
- 1 primary therapist with team back-up
- Therapists use behaviorally specific, vaule neutral language
- 24 hour availability to clients
- Services provided in the family’s natural environment Referrals
Appropriate referrals to HOMEBUILDERS® Services include
- Families whose children have been removed
- Families who need services to remain intact
- Families in which the children are reunified and are in imminent risk of disruption without intensive reunification services
- Families in which the children are in imminent risk of placement without intensive preservation services
- CHINS 6 / Informal Adjustment
- Pre-adoption and post-adoption families at risk or in crisis
- Juvenile Probation cases
