CAPE

The CAPE Care program provides quality child care for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years old in a multi-age setting. This program is funded by the Lilly Endowment through the Community Alliances to Promote Education (CAPE) grant. It is one component of this multi-faceted grant that promotes literacy.

The goal of CAPE is to provide meaningful experiences and support for our families in order to promote family literacy, life-long education, and positive parenting. To fulfill our mission we offer multiple services to our
enrolled families. In addition to providing child care for children ages 6 weeks to 3 years, we also offer the following services to our families:

  • Home Visits
  • Parenting Education
  • Parent/Teacher Conferences
  • Developmental Assessments
  • Health Assessments
  • Referrals to other agencies

There is also a voluntary research component that is conducted by Purdue University. The purpose of the research is to measure the effectiveness of the CAPE program, and to assist the CAPE staff in continually improving our services.
